Britannia Coaches achives CPC success

20 April 2009

Working closely with local training company KITA we took the initiative and were one of the first companies in the UK to tackle the new Drivers CPC Qualification.

Operations Manager Ben Lawson said, "From the outset I saw the new qualification as an opportunity to build upon the skills our drivers already possessed and leading by example I attended the midnight launch event hosted by training company Novadata at 00:01 on 10th September 2009, becoming one of the first P.S.V drivers in the EU to complete 7 hours training towards my CPC. KITA were able to extend the P.S.V Driver's CPC to incorporate an NVQ in Passenger Transport which presented an excellent opportunity for the development of the drivers so together we set about designing the course to address our specific needs as a business."

The courses, took place between October 2008 and April 2009 and covered several key areas including

  • Customer Service
  • Health and Safety
  • Drivers Hours Law
  • Fuel efficient driving
  • First Aid

Staff were presented with their certificates by Dover MP Gwyn Prosser in a special ceremony.
